Buy NowThe Strike Gold Loopwheeled Sweatshirt is built for those who value uncompromising durability, authentic craftsmanship, and timeless style. Designed to last a lifetime, it delivers exceptional warmth, a naturally soft handfeel, and a refined yet comfortable fit – often described as wearing a warm hug.
This sweatshirt is produced at the historic Kanekichi factory in Wakayama, Japan, one of only two workshops in the world still operating traditional Loopwheeled ('Tsuri-Ami') knitting machines. These machines, in use for over a century, rely entirely on gravity rather than mechanical tension, knitting fabric at an extremely slow pace of approximately 24 revolutions per minute. Each machine produces fabric for only 8–10 garments per day, a fraction of modern output, resulting in a fabric that is exceptionally dense, durable, and naturally soft.
The loopwheeled fabric is free from internal stress, allowing it to retain its shape over time while becoming softer with wear. Its dense knit enhances wind resistance and insulation, keeping you comfortable across a wide range of conditions without feeling stiff or restrictive.
Finished with a classic round neckline, a seamless tubular body, and a clean, minimalist construction, this sweatshirt reflects the purity of traditional athletic wear. The fit emphasizes broad shoulders with a slightly boxy silhouette, sitting snug across the chest while remaining relaxed through the waist. The slightly shorter length adds a modern, structured balance that pairs effortlessly with denim or trousers.
Fit Notes: Strike Gold sweatshirts run small – one or even two sizes smaller than your regular American size. As always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
