Buy NowIf you're the kind of guy who values cost-per-wear, look no further than this Strike Gold hoodie. This durable heavyweight wonder is guaranteed to last a lifetime with a flattering fit, a soft feel and exceptional warmth. It feels like 'a warm hug'.
This Strike Gold Loopwheeled ('Tsuri-Ami') hoodie is woven in the Japanese Kanekichi Wakayama workshop, one of only two workshops in the world still keeping in operation after more than 100 years the tubular textile production machines that allow seamless garments to be made. The only tension used in the knitting process is gravity, the end result being a knitted fabric with virtually no inbuilt stress or tension. A loopwheel machine rotates at just 24 revolutions per minute, with only 8-10 garments worth of fabric produced per day. A modern knitting machine in excess of 10 times that. The result is a heavyweight, soft but strong fabric, and the best sweatshirt material made today.
It features a zipper, white drawcords, waist pockets and no side seams. This built-to-last sweatshirt is super soft on the inside and resistant on the outside. They've been woven a bit tighter than traditional loopwheeled hoodie fabrics to make them a bit more windproof.
The cut is slim to improve heat retention.
The Strike Gold offers one-wash and non-wash versions. We have chosen the one-wash version for this model so expect no shrinkage with the following washes.
The Strike Gold is undoubtedly one of the benchmark brands when we speak of Japanese denim. Established in Kojima, in Okayama Prefecture, the Hamamoto family has been focusing all its efforts for more than 10 years on producing denim, sweatshirts, shirts and belts of the very highest quality one can find today. Their denim fabrics, unique in the world for their texture, composition, incredible irregularity, stiffness, roughness and character, delight denim devotees around the planet.
