Buy NowThe Super Fade started life as a raw indigo Birch jacket. What it became is something else entirely. Inspired by one of Adam's favourite pieces from his vintage archive, each jacket undergoes over twenty individual washes using pure spring water and no harsh chemicals. Layer by layer, the indigo is drawn out until the perfect time-worn fade is achieved.
From there, every jacket is hand-sanded, whiskered, and given small natural abrasions – placed exactly where they'd appear after years of honest wear. The result is a jacket that feels like it's already lived a life. Instantly familiar, utterly new. Because the fade is shaped by human hands and natural elements rather than a fixed process, no two Super Fades are identical.
The variation isn't inconsistency – it's the point. 14oz Japanese selvedge denim woven on narrow looms by Collect Mill, Okayama. Finished with a Sashiko-stitched interior pocket – itself faded beautifully through the wash process – branded brass hardware, and chambray detailing at the cuffs and pocket flaps.
Crafted in China – not as you'd expect. Five years ago, our Japanese denim maker set up a small factory in China with a single ambition: to pass the Japanese way of working to a new generation of makers. Thirty workers. The same standards, the same rigour, the same obsession with craft that defines everything made in Okayama.
We chose to be part of that. Because good craft deserves to continue – wherever it takes root. Craftsmanship has no postcode. A note on sizing. The Birch is cut to fit close to the body. We recommend sizing up for the best fit.
