The Atelier GMT Première M1a takes Timex's existing 40mm Atelier GMT and brings it down to a 38mm case, aimed at wrists that wanted the design without the larger footprint. It keeps the collection's signature look: a skeletonized stainless steel case that exposes part of a gold-toned middle section, paired with a black-and-green 24-hour GMT ring around a black enamel dial.
It launches in two versions built around the same case and movement, one on an integrated rubber strap and one on a steel bracelet. The case runs 38mm across, 13. 8mm thick, and 46. 11mm lug-to-lug, with an IP gold coating over the exposed middle section rather than solid gold. A double-curved sapphire crystal with a triple-layer anti-reflective coating sits over the dial, while the caseback uses mineral glass for a view through to the movement.
Gold hands and markers stand out against the black dial, with a diamond-cut inner ring carrying the 24-hour GMT track, and Swiss LumiNova lume across the hands, markers, and GMT ring for visibility after dark. Both versions share an 18mm lug width and a deployant buckle; the bracelet tapers to 16mm with self-adjustable links, while the alternate strap is an integrated NBR synthetic rubber.
Power comes from a Swiss-made Landeron 24 GMT automatic movement, which adds a second time zone via an independent 24-hour hand read against the GMT ring, along with a date display. It holds a 40-hour power reserve, enough to keep running for about a day and a half off the wrist.
