Buy NowFlannel 160 is designed to be worn as a casual, comfortable shirt (not an overshirt). It’s in the middle of classic weight flannel shirts. Customers choose Flannel 160 for comfort and warmth when the average daytime temperature is 60 degrees or less.
Flannel 160 is slightly heavier than our Oxford 150, but it feels loftier due to its brushed finishing. After weaving, the fabric is sent through a machine with rollers that have fine teeth. The teeth agitate the fibers and raise them to the surface. These raised fibers create the softness that flannel is known for.
Flannel 160 became our sole flannel fabric in 2022 after several years of offering weights ranging from 130-230 g/sm (grams per square meter). We’re confident that 160 g is the right weight for a flannel shirt to be worn indoors comfortably, throughout the day, during cooler times of year.
