TROPHY CLOTHING Humming Bird Horsehide Jacket Black

About this product

Introducing the Humming Bird Horsehide Jacket by Trophy Clothing. This iconic piece, a timeless Japanese classic produced for over a decade and renowned for its craftsmanship and top notch quality.

Trophy Genuine Horsehide:

Trophy Humming Bird is well known for using one of the best and most beautiful leathers we can find today. It is a 1.3mm vegetable-tanned horsehide Teacore with a matte finish, made in Japan specially for the brand. It is incredibly thick.

This leather is called 'Teacore'. It is a horsehide leather that's brown underneath its surface. It is vegetable dyed with mimosa bark for tannins. Mimosa produces a lovely pinkish-brown under colour that stains the leather by absorbing the tannins. That pinkish-brown under shade is the colour of the leather before a finish is added. It's called 'Teacore' because it's the colour of good strong tea.

The leather retains a beautiful matte finish, enriched by the inclusion of oils.

Construction:

The back boasts a seamless, single-panel design, showcasing a luxurious touch. This jacket is lined with a smooth blend of cotton and rayon, enhancing comfort.

It featured brass zippers and buckles on the side belts. The Art Deco-inspired design pays homage to vintage buckles.

This is also one of the most durable leather jackets money can buy due to its construction details, such as 'Leather Piping Construction' in the arms that adds unbeatable strength.

Fit

The Humming Bird Jacket is a staple item in Trophy Clothing's lineup, has undergone a pattern review and silhouette update recently. Crafted based on a 40's vintage Leather Sports Jacket owned by the Masaki Egawa, this piece features deeper armholes, providing an authentically American, robust arm fit. Ribbed cuffs and thoughtful details prevent wind intrusion, especially during motorcycle rides.

We recommend choosing your regular size for a slim, short fit or going one size up for a standard fit. Individual body shapes may vary, so we suggest consulting our size…
