This premium cotton cardigan from UES is expertly crafted in Japan and widely acclaimed since its introduction a few seasons ago. Meticulously designed with remarkable attention to detail, this cardigan continues to be a standout favorite in the UES collection.
Crafted from 100% premium cotton, this cardigan is both exceptionally comfortable and easy to care for. Its innovative single rib knit fabric replicates the distinctive texture of 'Gara spinning' – a method once used on old spinning machines that produced uniquely uneven, slubby yarn. At 11.8oz, this substantial single rib knit fabric features an intentionally uneven texture, creating a luxurious, hand-spun feel.
Enhanced for durability, the cardigan incorporates anti-stretch tape sewn from both shoulder lines to the back of the neck, as well as twilled cotton tape reinforcing the button placket and buttonholes. Additionally, an expertly applied fabric patch reinforces the back.
The cardigan’s thoughtful design extends to its buttons, crafted from natural palm nuts, lending each piece a distinctive and authentic appeal. Please note that these natural buttons may gently evolve in color and texture over time and are slightly more delicate than synthetic alternatives, further enhancing the cardigan’s unique character.
Perfect for layering and versatile enough for various occasions, the cardigan's exceptional quality and thoughtful construction have consistently exceeded expectations, securing its place as a beloved staple in the UES lineup.
Fit Notes: Like many UES garments, this cardigan runs slightly smaller compared to standard American sizing, reflecting a slimmer, Japanese-style fit. We recommend choosing one size larger than your typical American size. For example, if you usually wear an M in American brands, selecting a size 3 (L) in this cardigan will offer an optimal fit. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
