Buy NowWarehouse & Co. flannel shirts are made on power looms, found only in select areas of Japan. These looms preserve the uneven texture of vintage yarn rather than simply creating selvedge; selvedge appears as a by-product. Using high-tension modern looms would alter the fabric, losing the original character of the yarn.
The power looms, similar to those used for denim, weave multicolored yarns in complex patterns, allowing the warp to move up and down while shuttles alternate weft threads. This method maintains the natural unevenness of each thread. After weaving, the fabric is brushed on the back, softening the pattern and adding volume, creating a texture unique to power loom flannel.
Selvedge is used in the gusset, reflecting the style of vintage flannel shirts from before the 1960s. - Style: Lot 3104 Flannel Shirt- Fit: Regular fit- Color: Brown- Material: 100% cotton- Made on limited Japanese power looms- Preserves uneven, vintage-style yarn; selvedge is a by-product- Twill weave with multicolored yarns for patterned flannel- Brushed back adds softness and volume- Selvedge used in gusset, like 1960s vintage flannel- Made in JapanOur model is 192cm, 89kg – wears size 40/L
