Wesco's MP95 last is a D width and runs slightly large, so we recommend sizing down one half size from your properly measured Brannock size, or standard US sneaker size. If you have a very wide foot, consider going true to size. Each boot also includes a leather footbed, which can be removed to provide more volume or to accomodate a different insole.
Our first ever Wesco x Brooklyn custom makeup, a Charcoal Roughout Hendrik set atop a Vibram Christie wedge sole, has finally been restocked after a long few years, featuring Wesco's traditionally overbuilt Pacific Northwest heritage construction. Our custom Brooklyn x Wesco makeups share the same Wesco DNA as their heavy duty workboots, overbuilt to similar heritage specifications with some of America's top quality roughout leathers used for the uppers, double, triple, and quadruple sitched seams, thick full-grain leather midsoles, hardy rubber outsoles, steel shanks, and of course, traditional and resoleable stitchdown construction to attach the boot to the sole.
This makeup is our take on Wesco's Hendrik Boot, built on the usual MP95 last with Wesco's regular toe shape for a classic silhouette that pairs perfectly with a natural wedge sole for casual and chore wear. This Hendrik is built with Charcoal Roughout leather and a smooth Charcoal tongue for contrast. Details include a straight toe cap, nickel eyelets, slightly contrasting grey upper stitching, and Vibram #4014 Christy wedge soles paired with brown leather midsoles.
The Charcoal Roughout upper is about as durable as upper leathers come - make no mistake, this is no delicate suede. Roughout (the reversed backside of a smooth leather) is incredibly hardy, retaining its' full-grain nature, and has been the first choice for abrasion resistant leather boots for as long as modern bootmaking has been around.
