Buy NowThe Kobashi Studio Briefcase is a testament to exceptional craftsmanship and quality materials that tell stories spanning decades. The body is crafted from 19oz water-resistant paraffin brown canvas, produced by the same Japanese textile company operating since 1885 – a fabric that brings together rugged durability with deep textile heritage.
Every detail narrates a story of its own. The handle and pull are crafted from Japanese vegetable-tanned saddle leather, while the solid brass YKK zipper – made in Japan – provides a smooth, sturdy closure with a touch of vintage authenticity. The exterior features a pocket secured with a solid brass snap, and the interior houses one compartment with a cushioned bottom designed to protect a laptop or tablet. The minimalist, clean design by Junichi Kobashi is finished with a discreet, non-visible logo – quiet refinement throughout.
The nylon tape that frames the briefcase is produced in Shizuoka since 1950, blending tradition with modern functionality. Comfort is equally considered: both the shoulder straps and the back panel are carefully cushioned, providing the support needed for daily carry.
This is not just a briefcase – it is a functional work of art. Handmade in Hyogo, Japan, every stitch reflects craftsmanship perfected over generations. Designed to withstand the rigors of daily use for decades, this is a piece meant to be handed down rather than tossed out.
Kobashi Studio is a small Tokyo-based atelier specializing in solid brass accessories of the highest quality and detailing found today. Its founder, Junichi Kobashi, draws upon completely handcrafted production using vintage machinery and manual processes to create some of the most beautiful pieces in production today.
