The Pherrow’s 25W-P.30 CPO Shirt is a meticulous reproduction of the classic Chief Petty Officer shirts issued by the U.S. Navy in the 1930s – designed as durable, cold-weather garments that functioned both as a shirt and light outerwear.
Crafted from a heavy wool-blend fabric, this piece delivers warmth, structure, and the rugged character expected from true naval workwear. It’s built to perform in colder conditions while maintaining a refined silhouette that transitions easily into everyday wear.
What sets this version apart is the focus on rare vintage references featuring brown-gold stitching. This subtle yet distinctive detail adds warmth to the deep navy tone and has been carefully reproduced by skilled Japanese craftsmen. The construction reflects the original garments, including the distinctive seam running from the cuff into the sleeve opening, a detail rarely seen in modern reproductions.
Further authentic touches include a printed interior name label inspired by vintage examples and anchor-engraved urea buttons, reinforcing its military heritage.
Whether worn buttoned up as a standalone piece or layered open over a T-shirt, the CPO shirt offers a perfect balance of function, history, and timeless style – a true representation of Pherrow’s commitment to heritage craftsmanship.
Fit Notes: This shirt fits true to size for Pherrow's and most Japanese brands. Compared to most global American brands, a size 42 fits similarly to a Large. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting shirt to find the perfect size.
