Samurai's newest flannel work shirt exemplifies the brand's mastery over complex fabrics and dyes, even more than their shirts usually do. This release is sewn from a heavyweight Japanese flannel that has been specially dyed with a traditional Japanese 'amegasuri' technique, imbuing the threads with both natural indigo and asagi blue dye prior to weaving. This gives the fabric a deep, multi-tone blue colour, with multiple shades of indigo and light blue colourblocked across the face. On top of this, Samurai gives the dyed fabric a dose of texture with traditional sashiko embroidery; weaving a beautiful layer of indigo, asagi blue, and kasuri (natural) threads across the checked flannel to give the complex, layered appearance of falling raindrops. In terms of both visuals and textures, this flannel has some of the most incredible depth we've seen, and it will only get better as the indigo threads fade over time.
