SAMURAI JEANS SKN24-01 Rain "Kasuri" Sashiko Flannel Work Shirt

About this product

The Rain Kasuri Flannel Work Shirt by Samurai Jeans is a striking blend of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and rugged workwear functionality. Crafted in Japan using indigo-dyed amegasuri check flannel, this shirt captures the subtle beauty of rainfall through a unique kasuri (ikat) weaving technique. The fabric combines three colored threads – indigo, asagi (light blue), and kinari (unbleached) – strategically placed to create a flowing 'rain' effect.

Woven on a dobby loom with thick-count yarns, the cloth features a 2/1 twill structure typical of flannel, offering a soft, breathable feel with sashiko-inspired texture. Unlike heavily brushed flannels, this fabric remains unbrushed, allowing the intricate structure and color depth to remain visible while ensuring durability and comfort over years of wear.

Built to last, this work shirt incorporates triple-stitched rolled seams, Samurai’s signature indigo-dyed nut buttons, and branding touches like the 'Hi no Maru' rising sun tag and a Samurai guarantee ticket. As each shirt is dyed with natural indigo, subtle variations in shade and tone are to be expected – each piece tells its own evolving story.

Fit Notes: This shirt from Samurai is truer to size compared to other upper garments from the brand, such as t-shirts or jackets, which tend to run small. This is because the brand offers an overseas fit for Western customers in some pieces like this, so we recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
