Japanese brand Soundman have created a name for themselves creating unique clothing with a classical twist. Their latest collection for AW26 is no different as the Rector Jacket demonstrates. The Rector from Soundman takes its cues from the understated tailoring of 1930's British sack coats.
Similar to originals from the period, the coat features a three-button front, no vent, and three external patch pockets, offering a relaxed, unstructured silhouette that is easy to wear. Made in Japan from Super 100 wool, the lightweight melton fabric has a balanced weight, offering warmth and structure without feeling too heavy.
A considered update for the modern wearer includes a slightly enlarged hip pocket on the right side, sized to comfortably fit a smartphone, while two large hip pockets and single chest pocket add to the utility of the Rector. An inside pocket and double dyed nut buttons complete the look.
