Buy NowThe Sunray Sportswear Haleiwa is a tribute to traditional craftsmanship and sustainability. Knit in Japan from recycled 'Ochiwata' cotton, the fabric gains a unique slubby hand feel and exceptional softness – the natural result of spinning recycled fibers into yarn rather than using virgin cotton.
The cloth is a 260gsm cotton jersey, knit on rare antique loopwheel machines that produce only a few meters per hour. This slow, deliberate process delivers fabric with natural body, subtle irregularity, and a refined surface texture impossible to replicate through modern high-speed knitting.
The silhouette is the Haleiwa Fit – a classic, balanced cut, neither too boxy nor too slim. The body is constructed as a tubular knit with no side seams, eliminating twisting and producing a cleaner, more comfortable drape. A reinforced ribbed neckline is designed to maintain its shape across years of wear.
Sustainability extends well beyond the cotton itself. The T-shirt is finished with recycled polyester labels and arrives in recycled packaging printed with soy ink – a holistic, considered approach to reducing environmental impact at every step.
Fit Notes: This T-shirt fits true to size for a classic, balanced silhouette. As a reference, size 44 fits like a standard American Large, with 40 = S, 42 = M, 46 = XL. As always, we strongly recommend checking our size chart and comparing it with your best-fitting T-shirt to ensure the right fit.
