THE STRIKE GOLD 8104 "Shower Slub" Straight Tapered Jeans

About this product

This beautiful selvedge denim is one of the latest creations from Tohru Hamamoto. It features a lot of irregularity both in texture and colour. Hamamoto used slub yarn of different concentrations of pure indigo rope dyeing for warp, creating a two-tone colour with a very 'Rain' like effect hence why denim heads worldwide have recently coined it 'shower slub'. This masterpiece fabric stays at 16oz, and it is woven with low tension on a vintage shuttle loom.

This model is full of details such as its hidden rivets in the back pockets, a deer leather patch and custom iron male rivets and copper female rivets. The male rivets will begin to oxidize over time, but the female ones will darken, providing an ageing aspect.

The Strike Gold jeans are notably stiff, the result of always searching for the best raw materials, the most virgin materials possible. Consequently, The Strike Gold jeans make for tricky wearing the first times, but bit by bit they will yield after the first few uses and result in a comfortable garment that moulds to the body like a second skin. Thanks to the spectacular fade the denim acquires over the years, The Strike Gold jeans always achieve a unique character.

The cut is a straight tapered fit. It gives an excellent looking tapered silhouette while allowing a lot of space at the thighs with a medium rise.

The Strike Gold is undoubtedly one of the benchmark brands when we speak of Japanese denim. Established in Kojima, in Okayama Prefecture, the Hamamoto family has been focusing all its efforts for more than 10 years on producing denim, sweatshirts, shirts and belts of the very highest quality one can find today. Their denim fabrics, unique in the world for their texture, composition, incredible irregularity, stiffness, roughness and character, delight denim devotees around the planet.
