The Graph Zero 15oz 'Skein Dyeing Denim' Heritage Jeans are a rare reinterpretation of early 20th-century workwear, combining pre-war construction details with an exceptionally characterful black denim fabric that is almost impossible to find today.

Woven in Japan on vintage low-tension shuttle looms, the 15oz selvedge denim is made using traditional skein dyeing (kase dyeing) – a labor-intensive method where the warp yarns are dyed in rope bundles before weaving. Unlike modern industrial dyeing, this process creates natural irregularities in tone and saturation, resulting in a deep, textured black with subtle highs and lows throughout the fabric. Paired with grey weft yarns and uneven slub threads, the denim develops a dry handfeel and a rugged surface full of depth and movement.

The result is a black denim that behaves very differently from standard black jeans. Instead of staying flat and lifeless, the fabric fades gradually and unevenly, revealing rich contrasts and grainy textures that echo vintage indigo denim while retaining its distinctive charcoal-black character.
